In this Satsang given by Dr. Roger B. Lane Dr. Lane talks about ways we can Really, Really, Really hear someone. Not just ‘oh, yeah, I heard the sounds …’ but ‘I REALLY Listened and I was There for you’.
Understand that we need to be completely Neutral; no judgements, no translations! We need to be Entirely Present. We need to be a blank slate and we need to Identify the other person as Soul, as Spirit. We can’t do that unless we have Identified ourSelves Properly. I can’t know that you are Soul, are Spirit unless I Know that about mySelf.
Discover that when we are Practicing Proper Identification we are not only there for that person we are there for ourSelves as Soul, as Spirit and we are just having an encounter with somebody! So That’s really What’s needed. Knowing our Divinity and the other person’s Divinity and relating to that person from That Place.
Know that when we interact many of us we make translations - “this means this …” – and that many of us run a historical context - “The person acted in this manner many times before; therefore, …”! When we’ve translated something we’ve crystallized it and we become karmically responsible for its creation and what we have put into a seeming historical context may, additionally, not be true or relevant. Stay Open! It’s our job to be Neutral and to be Present. If we’re in the Presence of the Divine we don’t sit there and say “I can’t wait until this is over …”
Understand that when we Listen we need to Listen in Neutrality; just being Present with the experience without labelling it; without judging it; without judging ourSelves; and Trust the Spirit in us Knows what to do with it! It will organize Itself, as it were, and organize our Understanding if we Allow It.
Discover that the Soul is coming to know Itself! God in His Kindness and Mercy gives us Access to Him through the Gift of Initiation into the Sound Current and we come to know the Living God, the Spirit That we are. The Great Oversoul made us out of His Spirit. That’s our Essence and it’s essential that we be in Remembrance of This within ourSelves at all times.
Understand that there’s really no difference when we sit in Simran and Dhyan – What the world calls Meditation - or when we are in the Presence of someone else, when we sit in the Presence of the Lord, God or when we are in the Presence of that person because that person is the Lord, God. It’s real simple.
